Students across Australia say: "We Love Our Schools!"
Community Language School Day falls on the third Saturday each May. The annual event is an occasion to reflect on the important role community language schools have in their local community, but also what they mean to Australia's multiculturalism and its social fabric. To celebrate the occasion while recognising that remote learning has challenged many school communities, schools were asked to submit short videos of their students.
Students state "we love our school" in their language. The video compilation shows the diversity of school communities and student pride. You can also sense how helping students develop complex multilingual identities shapes them in a positive way, giving them access to exploring their multi-faceted identities and making friends. Community language schools are supportive, important environments for adults and children alike. It is wonderful to see all the hard work schools are doing to support students across Australia!
